Kiwa UK takes first step in AI with an inspiration session for 40 colleagues

Within Kiwa UK, there was a need to introduce the team to AI in a practical way. The topic kept coming up, but a shared foundation was missing: what exactly is AI, where does it help in daily work, and what is sensible use? The team had a mix of knowledge and attitudes. Some were curious, some were waiting to see, and there were questions about reliability and safety.

On top of that, Kiwa as a TIC organisation operates in a context where quality and care are leading. Kiwa UK therefore sought a first step that brings colleagues along, introduces a common language and immediately shows where AI can support daily tasks. The aim was to move the conversation from uncertainty to concrete applications and logical next steps.

BE Digital developed and facilitated an AI inspiration session for the Kiwa UK team, with around 40 participants, to bring AI back to a down-to-earth first introduction and a shared foundation. We opened with the development of AI and the breakthrough of Large Language Models such as ChatGPT, so it was clear what has changed in recent years and why this is relevant for knowledge work.

Then we made the translation to daily tasks, such as summarising, structuring and creating first drafts, including attention to reliability, privacy and security. We placed this in a concrete adoption framework with success factors and three levels: reactive AI, AI assistants and AI agents. We then translated this directly to the existing working environment with Microsoft Copilot in Microsoft 365. We gave practical examples in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams. To finish, participants received prompt guidelines and a short exercise so they could experiment independently after the session.

We deliberately kept the inspiration session practical and accessible, so the whole Kiwa UK team got the same foundation without it feeling like a hype.
